The Break-Away bike disassembles and assembles in minutes and comes complete with a travel bag. Ritchey custom steel and Titanium tubesets and the patented compression coupling system are the keys to this design. The frame is securely joined at the seatpost in two places and on the downtube. The coupler clamps unobtrusively around small flanges on the downtube. While this system is as secure as systems much larger it adds less than 100 grams.
Break-Away frames are available in custom heat treated Ritchey cromoly tubing, or in custom drawn 3/2.5 aerospace grade Titanium and carbon fiber. The Ritchey Break-Away is available in road, cyclocross or the latest additions – titanium hardtail mountain bike and steel road singlespeed frames. While all models can be purchased as framesets with deluxe travel bag, a complete road bike is also offered. The Titanium Carbon model comes equipped with Ritchey WCS carbon parts / Shimano 10-speed Dura Ace.
